Story #16

Male 1 – (Name withheld upon request)

M1: About 1982 or 1983 I was at the south end of the Jicarilla Indian Reservation with uncle, my dad and my little brother. We were at a ranch house. In the middle of the night, some place around 2 a.m. there was a bright light, which woke up my dad and my uncle. They said that somebody had pulled up to the gate and stopped. They were going to go and check it out but something started going around the house. It was a real bright light, just like daylight. My uncle went to the door so he could check it but he said something was pulling the door, holding it shut. When he finally opened the door the light burned him, like gave him a sunburn, and it threw him back and knocked him over. Both of them got to the door and closed it. Now, they didn’t want to go outside ‘cause it scared both of them, my dad and my uncle. That light stayed there for a while since there were three houses in the area. The light stayed there, that real bright light. We didn’t look out because his face was burnt or suntanned.
The next day when we went out we could tell where something had landed because there were three spots where it looked like it burned holes in the ground. The indentation it made was about 5-6 inches into the ground. The weird thing about it was that where the light hit my uncle, it was burnt, red like a real bad sunburn. The other part of him was O.K., there wasn’t anything. There was like a line where part of him got burnt.
Question: How is your uncle now?
M1: He died.
Question: Natural causes?
M1: Yes.
Question: Was it like radiation sickness or something like that?
M1: No.
