Hart Canyon 1978
In 1978 I had my first encounter with a UFO. I would go out Hart Canyon to my property where I had two horses that I had to feed. I went out at about nine o'clock that night. It was a cold night, but I had to feed my horses. My wife was at school judging a speech contest so I went by myself. It was a dark night. After feeding the horses and spending a little time with them I left to return home.
After about one-half mile, I saw this blue light all around. I couldn't see the source, first I thought it was an arc welder. It continued for about a mile - I was driving a 1967 International Scout. As I approached the main Hart Canyon road, my vehicle stalled and wouldn't restart so I got out to check under the hood. As I got out I saw this strange aircraft just hovering. I have spent many years around aircraft and I knew all the government had. I realized this was not an aircraft. It made no sound, was about 200 feet above me with a blue light coming down to the ground, and in a circle underneath it there was a lot of glowing different colored lights. I slammed the hood and then realized it was a UFO. At this point I started to panic, not knowing what to do. I decided to try to start the vehicle one more time. I knew it would not do any good to run or shout at it. I had a 308 rifle with me. I tried and it started and I got the Hell out of there.
I stopped at the Roadrunner Cafe which was open 24 hours. I knew the owner. I went in and sat down and ordered coffee. The owner came over and sat down and looked at me. He said, "You're white as a sheet. What happened?" I told him about it, thinking he would laugh at me, but he didn't. Then he said he had heard the same from other credible people. The next day the paper reported sightings at Cedar Hill and other places in the tri-city area.
